Downtown Owensboro Kentucky Wedding

Allie and Alex’s wedding day was unbelievable.  Before I go any further, I am going to gush about the most beautiful and magical moment of their whole day. OH. MY. GOSH. Allie and Alex’s first look was pure magical bliss. It made our hearts melt and it made tears well up in our eyes. This moment hit me hard in the feels and I could feel the presence of one of the truest loves I’ve ever encountered. AHHH, just pure magic!!

Allie and Alex tied the knot at St. Steven’s Cathedral in Owensboro, Kentucky. St. Steven’s is by far one of the most beautiful Catholic churches that we’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting in. It contains so many beautiful and ornate pieces of architecture…so traditional and elegant. For the first look, we sat Alex up in the front of the empty sanctuary. As he stood with his back turned and his eyes closed, Allie floated down the aisle giddy with excitement. The level of anticipation in the room was at an all-time high for all of us! She playfully covered Alex’s eyes and the moment he turned around, his jaw dropped. The happiness in that room at that moment was indescribable. Alex was glowing and his body language was EVERYTHING! Sweet Alex could not take his eyes off of his bride – it was legitimately one of the dreamiest moments that we have ever photographed! They ware one of the happiest couples, sometimes as if they are the only two people on this earth! Allie and Alex’s bridal portraits are truly something amazing and I am so stinking happy that we were able to capture those memories!

Before we knew it, we were joined by their bridal party. We headed to the downtown Owensboro Riverfront for some bridal party photos.  This group of guys and girls was exquisite in every definition of the word.  The bridesmaids had the most perfect gold-sequined dresses that paired well with the groomsmen’s gold bow ties. Allie wore the most stunning fitted gown from Ella Park Bridal. When you add her beaming smile, hair by One Cut Above, and makeup by Face Forward, she was the total package.  The wedding bouquets for the bridal party were to-die-for.  Welborn’s Floral Company never ceases to amaze me with their flawless work. Their bouquets implemented the prettiest shades of reds and whites to add to the splashes of gold throughout the day. The bouquets really helped add some pizazz to the classy and glamorous theme that Allie dreamed of.

This couple never complained once about the crisp fall air and I was blown away by the wonderful, kind gestures from the groomsmen. They were all constantly asking the bridesmaids if they needed their coats to keep warm. This group snuggled together all day long to keep warm and it was so stinking precious! We have not laughed as hard as we did with their bridal party in a LONG time! A big “thank you” to Allie and Alex’s bridal party – you guys are fabulous! The friendship shared between this group was something special. We were also witness to one of the coolest groomsmen gifts EVER! (Bret may have been a little bit jealous!) Alex gifted all of his groomsmen with new swords. Yes, you heard me correctly! SWORDS!! They were all so stinking excited and I do believe that they have found their new favorite toys! We, of course, had to capture some awesome shots with the swords included.

After bridal party photos were done, everyone headed to St. Steven’s Cathedral for the ceremony. What a beautiful, Christ-centered message. Allie and Alex’s ceremony was personal – full of sweet stories about the bride and groom.  The church was full of laughter and tears of joy throughout the entire ceremony.

After Allie and Alex said their “I do’s”, the bridal party piled up into the limo to head over to the reception at Immaculate in Owensboro, Kentucky. Allie and her beautiful tribe of trusted friends decorated the reception hall fabulously. Add in some special touches from Welborn’s and we had ourselves one of the most glamorous receptions to-date.

Lucky for us, Allie and Alex chose Odelia’s as their caterer – OUR FAVORITES!! Allie worked tirelessly to come up with the most perfect fall-inspired menu for their special day. There was wonderful cake, a pie bar, a mashed potato bar, and a new one for us – a sweet potato bar!  How cool is that?! So many bars, so many delicious options, and full bellies all around!

The dance floor was packed all night!! Allie and Alex kept the dance floor busy and full of fun. Laughter was heard from the new bride and groom all through the night. If they keep all their laughter up through the years like we witnessed on Saturday, I am sure that they will live a very joyful life!

Although wedding weekends can be tiring for Bret and me at times, they are so extraordinarily special to us. Wedding weekends are what we live for through and through. Couples like you, Allie and Alex, as well as family and friends as genuine as yours, remind us why we do what we do.
