Doesn’t every bride dream of having the perfect Pinterest wedding? Well, meet Brooklyn and David Maldonado. Brooklyn brought her wedding Pinterest board to life! She wanted a Bohemian-inspired wedding, full of greenery and creamy neutrals – boy, did she deliver?! We were thrilled to have the opportunity to capture their special day. We have been friends with Brooklyn for many years – Bret graduated high school with sweet B! Once we met to do their engagement session, we knew that Brooklyn had big dreams for her wedding day. We truly believe that her team of vendors and professionals that worked together to make their dream a reality was the best team we’ve EVER worked with. They all brought this fairytale wedding to life for the bride and groom.
Brooklyn and David were married at 20 West in downtown Newburgh, Indiana. 20 West is a styled venue and full of the most modern touches. Brooklyn and David got married on July 1, which fell on 4th of July weekend this year. The town was buzzing with excitement as the holiday weekend got started. We met the bridesmaids at Maison 200. The most perfect bridal suite was perched up in this old 1800s brick home. This house had the most stately character and charm – perfect for gorgeous photo opportunities! Hair and makeup came to the girls and they spent the morning laughing and giggling with the bride. The girls looked impeccable in their bridesmaid dresses from the House of White. They all wore mismatching patterns and styles – it was the perfect lineup of dresses. They were the picture-perfect combination of dresses to play off of Brooklyn’s beautiful gown. Lindsey Hart at Petal and Pine made the most beautiful bouquets filled with tons of gorgeous greenery.
We set up David on the other side of the carriage doors for their first look. Brooklyn’s dress was the Hayley Paige Halo gown from the House of White and it was the perfect dress for their Bohemian-inspired wedding. She was the most stunning bride. When those carriage doors opened, David’s face was to-die-for. It was one of those faces that all brides dream of when their groom first sees them. Brooklyn floated down the aisle to her soon-to-be husband and it was, in all seriousness, the most perfect moment. The sky had clouded up and it had been sprinkling on and off all morning. As soon as they held each other in that special moment, the clouds parted, the rain stopped, and the sun emerged! It was the most magical moment! We ventured around 20 West and then through the vintage downtown area of Newburgh to capture some more sweet moments.
The ceremony commenced surrounded by their closest friends and family. The ceremony was undeniably breathtaking. The wooden cross back chairs paired with a beautifully draped stage surrounded in greenery was Brooklyn’s Pinterest dream brought to life. After they said “I do”, they went into the private bridal suite inside the venue to cool off a bit (Southern Indiana summers are no joke – PHEW!). While taking a moment to relax, Brooklyn mentioned to David how nervous she had been until the moment she held his hands at the altar. She said she immediately went into a calm, peaceful state of mind. He put her at ease instantaneously. How precious is that?! We captured a few more gorgeous shots around the area and then captured our favorite sunset shots!
We knew going into this reception that it was going to be a party, and boy, oh boy, this reception did not disappoint! There was an endless amount of food and even more dancing out on the dance floor. They served one of the most elegant wedding cakes we’ve ever seen! It was a very simple, naked cake decorated by The Bauerhaus with floral arrangements from Petal and Pine. One of our favorite décor pieces was the globe guestbook that they used – it was a very unique touch. The venue was filled to the brim with delicate florals and greenery, so not much else in the décor department was needed to perfect the look. Brooklyn and David even handed out cute little succulents as favors. How adorable is that?!
We had the perfect view from the courtyard at 20 West for downtown Newburgh’s fireworks show. Brooklyn and David’s family and friends wished them farewell for the evening with a dramatic exit through sparklers. What a perfect ending to a Fourth of July wedding! We will forever be grateful for the chance to get to experience this day with the Maldonado’s. We wish you both joy, love and happiness as you begin this new journey together.
