New Harmony Indiana Just Married Session

Rachel & Tyler’s photos are giving us so many feelings right now. Their blog and session is a little bit different than our previous sessions so let’s start with some backstory! Rachel is my (Brandie) go-to hair guru at Day Salon in Newburgh, Indiana. She’s the absolute sweetest soul and is the definition of the bomb dot com. When I first started seeing Rachel, I felt that our friendship blossomed very quickly. As we got to know each other, I came to find out that her boyfriend, Tyler, graduated from the same high school as Bret and I a couple years behind us – it is such a small world! It was very apparent through Rachel’s stories, smiles, and giggles that they shared a very special relationship with each other. I was sitting in Rachel’s chair when she broke the news to me that she and Tyler had become engaged. The excitement in her voice was indescribable!

Very soon after, Rachel & Tyler inquired to us about shooting their wedding. Rachel & Tyler wanted to marry quickly – when you know, you know, right?! Unfortunately the dates and timing did not line up for us and we were unavailable to shoot their wedding day. This was a huge bummer for us, but we were so excited that they were so incredibly in love with each other, that they just couldn’t wait! Fast forward a couple weeks, and I was back in Rachel’s chair. The passion and enthusiasm that Rachel spoke with as she talked about her and Tyler’s future was incredible. So, if you’ve followed along with us throughout the years, you know that Bret and I are inspired and captivated by special kinds of love. In this moment it was so obvious how wildly in love Rachel & Tyler were. It is the kind of love they share that makes our job so incredibly wonderful! It was almost instantaneously that a light bulb went off in our minds. Why not shoot a session with the two of them with Rachel in her gown?!? We so badly wanted to give them something exceptional to look back on from their special day. After talking with the newlyweds, it was decided! We were going to shoot our first post-wedding session and boy, are we glad we did?!

Their whole session was picture-perfect. Set in New Harmony, Indiana, Rachel & Tyler could not have asked for a better day. The day was cooler, as fall seemed to be settling in and Mother Nature made sure that she did not disappoint. New Harmony is a quaint, charming little town with uniqueness hidden around every corner.  There was charm in every single nook and cranny of that town – a photographer’s dream!

I really think that Rachel had a lot of fun getting to get back into her beautiful strapless, Cinderella-esque wedding dress. It is not every day that you get to prance around in your wedding dress looking like a regal princess. She looked just as beautiful as the day they got married and Tyler looked at her like she had hung the moon. Tyler looked rather dapper and he was the perfect gentleman as he guided her through town. I’m tearing up just thinking about how perfect these two are together! We spent much of our time exploring New Harmony, Indiana. Being able to explore the area with such a sweet and fun couple really left our hearts feeling full.

As we explored, a lady approached us to compliment Rachel on her stunning dress. We gave her a little back story and she let us know that she owned a little bed and breakfast in New Harmony. This woman graciously offered us her property to use for photos. How sweet is that?!?! As we ventured to the B&B and turned the corner, we saw this beautiful grand Victorian home! It was like something out of a magazine and was to-die-for. The whole scene was so picturesque with its gated garden and charming décor. The beautiful flowers added a special touch to this session.  I just can’t even describe how easily Tyler could draw a twinkle to Rachel’s eye. When couples easily are drawn to each other, it makes our job so easy. There was no coaxing needed to get them to cuddle up and giggle because Rachel & Tyler are SO IN LOVE!

Before all of our exploring came to an end, we had to get to the perfect sunset location for the golden hour. During our sunset sessions, we typically ask our clients to practice their first dance for the wedding by slow dancing with each other under the setting sun. It gives our clients a chance to check out for a minute and snuggle into their significant other’s arms. Seeing as Rachel & Tyler have already had their first dance, they nailed their slow dance under the sunset! They got a chance to recreate one of the happiest moments of their special day. As we shot behind the camera, I got cold chills watching them melt into each other.

We are so incredibly blessed to have met Rachel & Tyler and we cannot wait to watch these two grow old together. Enjoy a sneak peek of their sweet session!
