West Baden Springs Hotel Engagement

Brrr…with these chilly temperatures tonight, what great timing to share a winter engagement blog post?! We had so much fun with Jaclyn and Chris last weekend. We ventured up and met in the French Lick, Indiana area for their cozy engagement session. We were blessed with the perfect gorgeous and sunny January day. Their session was originally planned in December, but Mother Nature did not agree with our original plan. The day was rainy, cold, and dreary – a terrible concoction for pretty pictures. We decided to opt out and reschedule for this past weekend and I am so glad that we did. It may have been bitterly cold, but when you pretend to be Queen Elsa, the cold never bothers you anyway!!

 

These two were so vivacious and full of giggles throughout the entire day. Considering it was only 19* and dropping as the sun set, these two were the ultimate troopers!! All of our sessions involve a large amount of cuddles anyway, but this one took the cake as Jaclyn and Chris snuggled to keep warm. Jaclyn wore the most adorable black cold shoulder outfit that really popped off the gorgeous colors of French Lick in the background. We explored the French Lick and West Baden resorts as we quickly realized that we really are so blessed to live so close to such gorgeous places! One of our favorite pastimes is sightseeing and we did a lot of that this weekend – there is so much to see!

 

After we finished up at the resorts, we made our way to Patoka Lake. The stars aligned perfectly for us as we made our way down to a rocky area on the lake. Jaclyn and Chris had a wardrobe change and changed into some cozy sweaters for these photos. We timed it just right as the sun was setting over the lake – it was absolutely magical! The lake was frozen solid and looked like a white Winter Wonderland covered in white snow. The setting was serene and peaceful and made for the most gorgeous photos! I mean, just look at them!!  As the temperature continued to drop, the snuggles increased.  I am absolutely in love with the shots that we got this weekend!!

 

We ended the session on a high note as we sprinted back to our cars to warm up. We are so grateful to have clients like Jaclyn and Chris that will endure the artic weather with us to capture the best photos possible! It was a dream engagement session and you all were super adorable throughout the entire process. Jaclyn and Chris, you two were such troopers and we are so excited to be able to celebrate your upcoming wedding with you two!!
