A Dreamy Fall Wedding At The Barn at Hamner Ridge

Friends, we can not wait to share about this gorgeous day with Kristen and Jordan. From the BIG love that they share to the beautiful details of their day, this wedding is a fav for sure! 

We were so excited that as soon as this couple got engaged, they locked us in asap! At the start of their planning, they knew that they wanted us to be a part of their big day, even before a venue was selected. What a HUGE honor! 

During their search for the perfect place to get married, Kristen found The Barn at Hamner Ridge in Edinburgh, Indiana. The venue was still under construction at the time and wasn’t yet available for weddings! Kristen saw the wonderful potential of the space even as things were still in progress. We couldn’t wait to see the finished product in a few months! 

Come the wedding day, everything was in place and ready to go! The venue was PERFECT. And when we say perfect, we mean it. With a wrap-around porch, incredible views and so much more, the whole place is breathtaking. Their wedding day was on the first day of fall and what a fantastic way to celebrate a new season with a beautiful new marriage. The weather was amazing at 60 degrees and that slight breeze was everything! 

Ever since their dreamy engagement session, rain and all, we knew that the wedding day would be just as fun and loving as those first photos we took for them. We knew it would be a blast! The anticipation of the wedding day kept building, especially as they finished getting ready. The bride and groom were so excited with those last-minute jitters. The good kind, of course.

While the wedding party was finishing up, Bret took some time to apply the new skills he learned from The Next Level Retreat into some detail shots. Brandie has some fun with the girls learning more about the love story and getting through last minute touch-ups.

The couple’s first look was so sweet and magical. Jordan had his back turned as Kristen came up from behind him, carrying her beautiful train and smiling so big. Kristen tapped him on the shoulder, and they fell in each other arms, kissing, hugging and just beaming with joy. It was such a special moment. 

They also exchanged some heartfelt gifts during their moments with just each other.  (Tears were shed…thoughtful gifts are the BEST!!)  After they opened presents, wedding party pictures were next. This group was just so fun and easy going, totally ready to celebrate their dear friends and support their new journey together. Despite the impeding rain, we laughed our way through SO many photos!! 

The ceremony was held in a gorgeous spot in the woods along a trail near the venue. The perfect backdrop with the beginnings of fall and all of the classic colors that come with it! Pure magic. Even with the light rain that settled in during the vows, the trees above us, kept guests dry…but oh the sounds of those raindrops lightly pitter-pattering as they promised forever…our hearts were SO full & the world stood still. It was such a beautiful ceremony, full of love and the best kind of happiness.

The day ended with delicious food, crazy dance moves and partying into the night. The perfect celebration to end the perfect day.  We love Kristen and Jordan and the real, big love that they have for one another. Thanks for letting us be a part of it all! 

How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend  (shoutout to Jennah B) during nursing school. We all went out for Halloween to celebrate her birthday and Jordan happened to be in the group. He spun me away on the dance floor and saved me from a very creepy guy…the rest is history! 

What would the perfect date night look like or include?

We love being outdoors when we can. Any sporting event that includes relaxing outside and drinking a beer or two is a good time for us! When the weather doesn’t allow that, we enjoy a good night in ordering food and curling up to nextflix. 

For the Groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“First, I love how passionate Kristen is about everything that she does. Secondly, I love how wonderful is with my family and my nieces and nephews. It did not take long for my entire family to fall in love with her like I did. Lastly, I love Kristen’s inner beauty as she is kind, loving, supportive, and everything perfect in a person.” – Jordan

For the Bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“He is the most humble person I’ve ever met and that is the number one thing I love about him. He’s also so kindhearted to anyone and everyone he meets. Lastly I must include that I love that he’s willing to put up with me in the most patient and generous ways, because it isn’t always easy!” – Kristen
