Brrrr…winter is here, guys! I’m talking bitter-cold, can’t-feel-your-hands, constant chapped lips kind of winter. And as much as I thought it was here to stay, it is going to be a high of 67 on Saturday, LOL. If you have ever been to our neck of the woods, you know that Mother Nature can be a little moody this time of year! This engagement session proves that statement to be true. Jenna and Luke’s session was one of those times that living in southern Indiana proved to be a little bit challenging.
Jenna and Luke’s session had to be rescheduled due to weather once, and it ended up being cold and dreary on their next reschedule date. The forecast was not looking great, but due to a tight timeline, Jenna and Luke knew that they needed to get it in. So with that being said, we all knew what we were heading into — bitter cold and wind. Bret and I wouldn’t get our precious bright natural light and Jenna and Luke were going to be COLD, but as Elsa would say…the cold never bothered us anyway (you just sang that out loud — don’t lie!!). Plus, we got to spend some time with a sweet B&B couple — that can beat out any dreary day!!
Bret and I bundled up like eskimos. I’m talking gloves, puffy jackets, ear warmers…the whole nine yards!! We were greeted by Jenna and Luke in downtown Owensboro, Kentucky. Our sweet friends came ready to brave the cold! You could just tell that they were both so genuinely excited to be there! Jenna was killing the style game in her adorable red blazer and I can’t forget to mention Luke in that sport coat! You can’t even tell that their teeth are chattering through those adorable smiles!! I loved that Jenna accessorized with her cute little hat, as well. Small accessories can add all the difference to a seemingly simple photo! They kept warm by snuggling close and they laughed their way through some extremely windy moments. I’m so happy that we had such good troopers for this session!
Before we ended with our sunset photos, we stopped in at a local coffee shop, The Creme. We cozied in for a bit and enjoyed a nice warm cup of coffee all while giggling and dreaming about Jenna and Luke’s wedding plans. After we had warmed up our bodies and our souls for a bit, we headed out to a nearby field. This time, instead of of being greeted by the sunset, we were greeted by snow flurries! While the cold may not be my favorite, I absolutely LOVE snow!! It was the picture-perfect ending to a picture-perfect day! Enjoy this sweet little sneak peek!
