A Rainy Wedding at The Corner House

Our busy season is slowly coming to an end, and while we will miss the chaotic hustle and bustle of busy season, we are excited to jump into some work on our new home! This new season of our lives is looking to be one of our favorites so far! We keep imagining spending some much needed time with our family and friends in our new home!! As we sit and dream big about what is to come, we keep finding ourselves coming back around and bringing up Rachel and Nick’s big beautiful wedding! Their wedding day proved to us that not even torrential downpours and tornadic winds can keep our awesome couples down!!

Rachel and Nick tied the knot at The Corner House nestled in Rockport, Indiana. It’s no surprise to our followers that it’s our favorite venue, lol! It’s hard not to love a local gem that is absolutely incredible! Rachel and Nick came in from out of town to The Corner House which is even cooler!! We were so excited to get the chance to work with them! After meeting them for the first time and date night over pizza, we knew they were crazy in love and wild about each other. They loved to joke around and lovingly pick on each other which is one of our favorite kinds of couples! We absolutely could not wait for their big day!!

On the day of their wedding, the forecast and mother nature had quite a crazy outlook. When we looked ahead, all we saw was rain, rain, more rain and crazy winds! We were in the path of some crazy weather, but these two did not let the poor weather forecast get them down. Rachel and Nick were ON CLOUD 9! It was almost as if nothing was happening around them and as if absolutely nothing could kill their vibe!

Bret and I arrived that morning to the sweet girls getting ready in The Corner House’s bridal suite. As they were wrapping up, it was still raining outside, but Rachel kept cracking jokes about how nothing could rain on her parade that day! And she was SOOOOO right!! Rachel did the sweetest reveal with her dad and three brothers. Oh my gosh, their reactions were so sweet! All four of them had the brightest smiles and jumped into her arms as they each took turns telling her how beautiful she was! It was seriously so stinking sweet!

Once everyone was ready to go, we grabbed our umbrellas and headed to the barn for Rachel and Nick’s first look! Their first look was nothing short of magical! They cried, they laughed, they embraced each other with hugs, and then they cried some more! The two of them were so excited to hold one another! Right in the middle of their first look, the biggest part of the storm hit. You could hear the rain on the roof and the wind whipping around outside, but it was as if nothing was happening and they were the only two in the world — it was oh so romantic! After the first look, we jumped into bridal party and family photos! We spent the whole afternoon giggling in the barn taking cover from the storm!

It was time for Rachel and Nick to say “I do”!! The two of them were surrounded by their closest family and friends during their ceremony. It was such an intimate, cozy, and sincere ceremony. They each wrote their own vows and it was such an intimate way to promise forever to one another! It was sincerely one of those ceremonies that leaves your heart filling full 🥰

It was almost as if it was by divine intervention, but as soon as they were announced husband and wife, the sun poured out all around us! The sky turned into one of the most beautiful sunsets and evenings that we have ever experienced! We were so excited to venture outside with the bridal party and couple as they enjoyed the warm sunshine on their skin! We were all laughing at all of the chaos from earlier in the day and we just couldn’t believe that the sun was out!! How magical!?! There was even a little rainbow peeking out behind the clouds! Rachel and Nick’s sunset session was absolutely perfect. Definitely one of the most gorgeous sessions we have ever captured!!

After their sunset session, they headed into the barn to dance the night away under the stars and twinkling lights. It was the best way to end their perfect day!  Congratulations, you two! We love you so very much!
