A Sweet and Sunny Corner House Engagement Session

We had the most glorious time with Sierra and Eddie at The Corner House Bed & Breakfast for their dreamy engagement session! These two will be promising forever here in just a few short months, so it was extra special celebrating this sweet season of life at their wedding venue!!! We absolutely love these two so very much. This engagement session is going down in the books as one of our absolute favs! Get to know these lovebirds & read all about their epic love story below! ❤️

When did you start dating?

“We started dating on January 1, 2010. He officially asked me to be his girlfriend right at midnight on New Year’s Day!”

What was your first date?

“We consider our first date to be the day he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. We were at a friend’s house for a New Year’s Eve party. We had already been talking for a few months, and he had become good friends with my group of friends. It was just before midnight on New Year’s Eve, everyone was getting together to get ready for their New Year’s Eve kiss. Everyone went outside to celebrate, and Eddie took me to the side away from all the crazy and asked me to be his girlfriend! I was so excited and nervous that the only thing to come out of my mouth was, “What?” The poor boy, already a nervous wreck, asked again if I would be his girlfriend. I finally said “Yes!” and he gave me a big hug while everyone else around us celebrated.”

 

How did he propose?

“Things were just winding down from Christmas and Eddie’s birthday (December 23). We had previously talked about going to Gatlinburg or somewhere out of Evansville for a few days for New Year’s since we both had a couple days off work together (which rarely happens). At first I told Eddie we didn’t need to go because we just spent a lot of money on Christmas for our families and we could just go to my friend’s New Year’s Eve party instead. Eddie INSISTED we still go and went ahead and booked a hotel room in Gatlinburg. We left literally the next morning and spent the day walking up and down the strip, browsing through all the shops.

The next morning we decided to go to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, eat at a local restaurant, and then ride the sky lift up the mountain. We were both excited and nervous to ride up the mountain, and it was SO cold and windy that day! Once we got to the top we walked across the Sky Bridge and got some hot chocolate on the other side. On the way back across the bridge he stopped me about halfway across and said, “This looks like a good place to take pictures.” I agreed, got my phone out, and snapped a couple pics. I turned around to see what he was taking pictures of, and there he was holding my beautiful ring in his hands and asked me to be his wife. Of course I said YES and couldn’t stop staring at my ring the entire ride down the sky lift. Now I knew why he insisted we take this trip together!”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“We enjoy spending time together at home watching Netflix, sitting outside on the porch, or sitting out back by the fire pit. We also really enjoy fishing and hanging out with our friends!”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“1. No matter the situation, he can always make me laugh.

2. He always tells me I’m beautiful, even if I just rolled out of bed and have crazy hair!

3. We always have fun together, even if it’s just a trip to the grocery store.”

 

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“1. She is smart and caring. Two of the main reasons she became a nurse.

2. She loves going on new adventures with me.

3. She is very neat and organized. She keeps the house clean and me out of trouble.”

 

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“We LOVED how Bret and Brandie both made the session so fun and happy! There were some awkward poses and places we had to stand, and we were already nervous about taking the perfect pictures anyway, but they made the session so smooth and not awkward at all!”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Go shopping for outfits at least a couple weeks before the pictures. I made last-minute outfit changes the day before our pictures, and it was stressful! Relax and have fun! Bret and Brandie are amazing at what they do, and they will make you feel so relaxed and comfortable during your engagement session!”
