Well, friends…Blaire and Matthew are officially married!!! WOO WOO WOO!! These two promised forever on the most beautiful Spring day at southern Indiana’s newest wedding venue, Friedman Park, surrounded by the sweetest family and friends!  It was the sweetest day full of sweet laughter & pure joy from everyone around! What BIG lesson did you learn throughout your engagement?

“Everything will turn out to be the way it is supposed to be. Even though not everything will go as planned, it will turn out perfectly!”

Tell us a bit about your wedding!

“Our wedding colors were dusty rose, navy, greenery, with gold accents. We originally had a different venue but during covid we switched to Friedman Park Event Center. We almost even decided to push our wedding back due to covid but we were able to have almost exactly what we originally planned. We got ready on the riverfront at the Lockmaster Cottages which was absolutely beautiful!! The day couldn’t have been more perfect.”

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Matt – “My favorite part was during the ceremony seeing Blaire walk down the aisle and having all of the emotions go through me.”

Blaire – “I think my favorite part was our first look because I was so excited for him to finally see my dress and for us to have that moment to ourselves. I was so happy in that moment and his reaction was the best!”

Bride: What did you do for your bach party?

“My best friends and I went to Kentucky Lake where we stayed lakeside. We ended up staying in both nights playing funny games and just laughing the entire time. We also went to eat at Pattis!😍”

Groom: What did you do for your bach party? 

“Me and my groomsmen went to a Cardinals game and then went to social house where we played games and probably had a bit too much fun.”

What was your favorite memory from your bachelorette and/or bachelor party?

Both – “Just being with our closest friends having a really good time! It’s hard having all of your favorite people in one place at one time due to school, jobs, etc so it was a great time.”

Did you go on a honeymoon?

“Yes!! We are currently in Montego Bay Jamaica at the all inclusive Sandals resort!”

Favorite honeymoon memory so far?

“Honestly just having alone time with just the two of us together. No distractions, no other people we know, nothing! It is a perfect getaway after the craziness of a wedding.”

Did you two do a first look?

“Yes! We originally didn’t want to but Bret & Brandie filled us in with all the reasons why they love a first look and we instantly agreed to do it. We loved their reasons why and it was just right for us!”

Tell us about your first look!

“It was perfect. I was so giddy to finally show Matt the dress. Matt was overcome with emotions and cried after finally seeing me. It really made things real that in a few short hours we were going to be married. The scenery was beautiful with the river and trees behind us. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

What’s next? What are you two planning on tackling next in life? 

“Ahhh, such a hard question. Matt will be graduating chiropractic school in a year and a half. He hopes to work with someone to start his career off and eventually maybe open his own practice. Blaire is working full time as a night shift pediatric nurse, so she is hoping to continue learning a lot through her job and potentially go back to graduate school eventually. We do want kids in the future, but want to make sure we are both ready financially! Until then, we are going to enjoy the life as husband and wife with our two cats!”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“I love that he isn’t afraid to show the world that he loves me. I love his dedication to everything that he does in life. & I love that he is always there to support me no matter the circumstances.”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“1. I love how she is the most loyal person that I have ever met. I know she has my back no matter what. 2. Of course I think she is the most beautiful person in the entire world.
3. She is so competitive and not afraid to put me and anyone else in their place. I need that from time to time.”

Bride, tell us a bit about who was the most helpful in helping you pull off your dream wedding?

“All of our parents. Our parents were so supportive in every decision we made. Every single one of them said they would make something happen if we wanted it. My step mom, Amy had the eye for design and made our wedding so beautiful!”

Advice for other couples who are planning their own wedding right now?

“Don’t sweat the small things. Not everything will go perfect the day of and that’s okay. Make sure you have a check off list of things to do the week of. There will be so many little things you don’t realize are important to think about. Just be organized and have an open mind!”

Did anything hilarious/unexpected happen?! 

“Our cute ring bearer, Jack, sprinted down the aisle during rehearsal dinner and then did the same during the actual ceremony! It was so funny and gave everyone a good laugh. He is the cutest!”

What is something unique you incorporated into your wedding? 

“Neither of us did this, but Blaire’s dad surprised her and her family with a “step family” first dance. He brought my step dad on the floor to have a dance with me along with my step mom and brother, and my mom and step brother. It was so sweet and selfless of my dad to do that!”

What was your first dance song? 

“Forever After All – Luke Combs”

How big was your wedding party?

“8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen! We had too many good friends to not include them all!”
