“We technically met in 6th grade, but didn’t start dating until we were 19 and in college.”
“We both grew up in Rockport.”
“Any and everything spicy – especially jalapeño dips and banana pepper pizza. The spicier the better these last 9 months!”
“After going through our miscarriage in October, getting a positive pregnancy test on Christmas Day felt surreal, scary, and also pretty magical. Chances are pretty good that tears were shed and a lot of hoping began. It was truly the best Christmas Day we’ve ever had.”
“A zip up sleeper with a fox print, just as we did with Eleanor. With both pregnancies, after the first viability ultrasound, we went to Target and bought a gender neutral sleeper with foxes on it. (We saw a fox themed movie for our very first date, so we have a thing for foxes!)”
“Shayna – Dada / Marty – not 100% sure, but thinking either Mama or no”
“Finding out his gender just the two of us and then being able to surprise our friends and family! With Eleanor, we did a big party reveal where we didn’t know until everyone else did. This time, we found out during the anatomy scan, just the two of us. We then went and bought the first set of boy clothes afterward. It was the best secret we got to keep to ourselves for a little while!”
“If it’s like it was with Eleanor, it’ll be both of us. Marty will get up to change Nicholas’s diaper, I will feed him, and then Marty will stock up my water bottle and snack stash.”
“If labor started spontaneously at home, I suspect Marty would be more nervous just making sure we make it to the hospital without having a baby in the car!”
“That is 100% me. Marty has a huge soft spot for Eleanor, which I can only guess will be the same with Nicholas. I’m much more of a type A personality with a solid schedule and routine.”
“Good question! Eleanor came out looking like a clone of Marty. Now, at 2.5 years, it varies who people think she looks like. We’ve heard anything from both of us to our parents to her Aunt Crystal. I have no idea who Nicholas will take after or if he’ll be a blend like his big sis!”
“Depends – I stay at home with the kids all day while Marty works, but whenever Marty is home, he changes every diaper without fail. So I’d say we probably change an equal amount overall.”
“Absolutely! She loves to point at my belly and tell people about her baby brother. She will run to me, when I’m sitting, and place her hand on my belly and wait for Nicholas to kick. We cannot wait to see her grow and blossom as a sweet big sister!”
