Kelynn and Matthew’s Engagement Session

We had the BEST time with Kelynn & Matthew during their dreamy engagement session while we were in Virginia! Those sweet snuggles, their precious giggles and the romantic rain made for the BEST session!!☔️  We are beyond obsessed with it all and had so much fun dancing in between rain drops with these two!! Kelynn & Matthew, thank you for letting us capture these sweet moments for you!!! Now…let the wedding countdown begin!!!🎉

How did you two meet?!

We met at Virginia Tech while playing trumpet in the Marching Virginians! We were good friends for almost two years before we started dating. Once we realized what was standing right in front of us, we were inseparable and the rest is history!

What was your first date?

Ice skating! Matthew had to practically hold me up the whole time because I didn’t ice skate on a regular basis and well…kept falling. But that made it all the more perfect for a first date, mandatory hand holding!

When did you start dating?

January of 2018

What would the perfect date night look like or include?

Snuggling on the couch, drinking wine, and watching a movie 🙂 Anything relaxing that we can also do together!

When did you get engaged?

March 2022

How did he propose?!

My family and I went on a cruise for a week, Matthew joined and decided to pop the question in the most romantic way one night on the boat! We all got dressed up for a “formal night”, and as I was walking to dinner I was lead into a small garden area by my family. It was there that I saw Matthew standing, a beautiful guitarist playing my favorite artist, and the tears began! He got down on one knee and I couldn’t stop saying yes over and over!

What are your favorite activities to do together?

Snowboarding! We love to go every year with our friends.

What’s your favorite animal?

It’s a tie between a dog or a cat….our fur babies are guilting us!

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

We love to have slow Saturday mornings, drinking coffee and taking the little moments together. We then always try to find time to see our families, friends, and spend time with the fur babies!

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

Matthew is caring about everything he does, goofy, and most of all, makes me feel loved every day. He never fails to make me laugh and is always there to pick me up.

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

Kelynn approaches each day with kindness and grace. She is always there to lift me up after a hard day and puts her whole heart into everything she does. She has also become quite the master chef!

If you could go anywhere on a vacation, where would you go?

The Maldives! Or, anywhere with a beach 🙂

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever been?!

The Bahamas!

Do you have any pets together? If so, what are they and what are their names!

Yes! We have a dog and cat, Keona and Zuko! They are two handfuls but we love them so much!

What’s something you are both passionate about in life?

Our families. We love to spend time with them and we have the best support system in the world!

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

Despite it being a rainy and cold day, we got to be together and celebrate that we’re GETTING MARRIED!

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

Don’t be afraid of the “giggle”! It does magical things.
