The Goedde Family Session

Oh this sweet family was just the MOST fun + beautiful thing ever!! We had the BEST time capturing these sweet memories for the LaMar family!! We had so much fun chasing that magical sunlight, acting silly to get those big smiles, and giggling our way through some of the cutest family photos EVER!! Ahhh!! ❤️ We adore the LaMar fam SO much!! Scroll down to see a peek of their family session and to read allll about the LaMars!!

What is something that makes your family special?

“We’re a bunch of goofs! If an opportunity to be ridiculous, act silly, or make jokes presents itself…we’re ALL taking it! We’re so rarely serious that we had to convince our family that we were actually pregnant, and not just pulling a prank on them. It’s crazy to watch our daughter, Maeve, grow into her personality, and recognize that she’s developing a sense of humor already…she’s got pretty good comedic timing for someone her age.”

What has been your favorite family vacation so far?

“Since it’s the only vacation we’ve been on so far, it’d have to be our trip to the Smokey Mountains last month. Maeve’s Uncle Mason and future-Aunt Katie live in Greenville, SC and the whole family decided to meet in the Smokey’s since it’s about half way between them and us. Not only did Maeve get to hang out with her uncle and soon-to-be aunt, but her Gigi and Ol’ Man were there too! It was so fun going hiking, and seeing the first blooms of spring in the mountains. The best part was seeing Maeve get to know, and fall in love with, the family she doesn’t get to see all that often.”

If you could choose any way to spend a family night at home, what would you do?

“Last week we had an impromptu picnic in our orchard. It was just the three of us playing in the dirt, and pruning the fruit trees. We roasted hot dogs, and had the best time! It’s not technically a night “in,” but it’s definitely an ideal night at home.”

What is the best memory you have of your family doing something together?

“This probably makes us bad parents, but there isn’t really a family memory that sticks out for us. As time moves forward we’ll get some core memories in there, but for now we’re living each moment to the fullest…it’s been pretty spectacular thus far!”

What’s next for your family?!

“We have so many fun things coming up this summer! Maeve’s 1st birthday is in June (which is bonkers!). We’re going on vacation with the LaMar clan at the beginning of the summer, and vacation with the Galloway clan at the end of the summer. BUT… we’re SUPER DUPER excited about our trip to Washington as a family of three! We’ve been to a third of the National Parks, and now we get to bring Maeve along as we continue to see the rest. It’ll be our first epic trip with Maeve. While we’re a little wary of the travel to and from WA, we’re mostly excited to see the three National Parks there (North Cascades, Olympic, and Mt. Rainier)!!!”

Would you rather time-travel into the past to meet your ancestors or into the future to meet your descendants?

“Time travel to the past to meet ancestors…no question Being able to visit all the places that are here now, but to see them in a different point in history would be fascinating. It’d also be more interesting to witness, and experience, the struggle our ancestors went through to propagate all the way to where we are today.”

What is your favorite family tradition?

“We’ve been a family of three for 10 months so we’re still cultivating our family traditions!”

What was your favorite part of your session with B&B?

“Bret and Brandie are photography superstars!!! They made us feel so comfortable, and it was like hanging out with a couple of friends that we’ve known forever. The best part had to be watching them get Maeve to smile for the camera. They weren’t afraid to be silly in a very public place. Not only did they make Maeve laugh with their antics, but they got the adults laughing too!”
