Jen and Tate’s Engagement Session

These two + those sweet pups are the CUTEST thing EVER!! We explored Forest Park in St. Louis for Jen and Tate’s engagement session on the prettiest evening and had the BEST time!! This cutie couple was full of the sweetest snuggles and the most adorable giggles throughout the entire session!! Ahh! We just love Jen & Tate (and Bailey & Nala) oh SO much!!! Let the wedding countdown begin, you two!!😍

How did you meet?!

“Our friends set up the perfect day for us to meet on May 28, 2018. A group of us went for a Jeep ride up the River Road. We headed to Grafton to have lunch at Third Chute and that’s where the nerves sat in. Then, rode around Pere Marquette Park together in the back of our friends jeep. I pretty much talked Tate’s ear off the whole time. We had so much fun with our friends there and just seemed so easy from the start.”

What was your first date?!

“Our first date was on July 20, 2018, Tate picked me up in his Jeep. I lived with my parents at the time and my sister happened to be at the house so they met right off the bat. We went to dinner at Lotawata Creek in Fairview Heights. Once again, I think I did majority of the talking but it never seemed like we had the awkward first date vibes. After, we came back to my parents tiki bar to have a few drinks. My parents and their friends showed up shortly after so they were able to meet him as well. I think overall it was a successful first date!”

When did you get engaged?

“December 12, 2021”

How did he propose?

“We went to Anheuser Busch to see the Christmas lights with both of our families. Little did I know everyone was in on the secret. We stopped to take “couples” pictures by the A & Eagle sign. His sisters and their significant others took theirs really quick and everyone encouraged us to be next. As we took our picture my dad came walking out with a sign all lit up that said MARRY ME. My stomach and jaw dropped. Tate got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in awe and the tears were streaming. It was the perfect night!”

What are your favorite activities to do together?

“Favorite thing to do is hiking together. We actually spent a week in Michigan and hiked on so many trails, it was beautiful.”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“Our favorite was to spend the weekend is just being together. Throughout the week we are SO busy we barely see or talk to each other. I would say going boating with our friends and family throughout the summer is our favorite.”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“It is so hard to narrow it down to just three. Tate is so hardworking with his job and then comes home to work more outside around the house. Tate is very supportive, I am terrible at making decisions and he will always support whatever I end up deciding on doing. What I love most is that he always makes me laugh no matter what we are doing!”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“How loving and protective Jen is with myself and our families. She is very driven and supportive towards excellence in life and also in our relationship. Third favorite, is that she is always my dance partner!”

Do you have any pets together?!

“We have two dogs! Nala is a 100 pound chocolate lab that lives outside and is 2 years old. Bailey Mae is a 70 pound Bernedoodle that lives inside and is 1 year old.”

What is one interesting or random fact about each of you?

“Tate is allergic to beer and my dad works for Anheuser Busch Brewery.”

What’s something you are both passionate about (in life)?

“We are both very passionate about spending time with our family.”

Tell us something fun about you two!

“We tested our relationship early on by fully remodeling my great grandma’s old farmhouse in October of 2019. It took us about a year and a half of hard work, long nights and paint to get to where we are now. We did mostly everything ourselves with the help of our families. I think Tate and my dad’s favorite part was doing the demo. LOL!”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“How easy it was because our photographers were so helpful!! With it being so hot, you guys were amazing giving us all the fan breaks to even helping me put makeup on! We loved the spots you guys found throughout the park. Something so simple looked amazing in the pictures.”

Where did her outfits come from?

“My white lace maxi came from Magnolia Boutique. My navy floral dress came from dry goods. Of course can’t forget the boots that I will be wearing at the reception too came from Boot Barn.”

Where did his outfits come from?

“Tate’s tan shirt came from Lululemon and his plaid Ariat button up came from Farm & Home.”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“If it is going to be hot out bring Milwaukee fans! Also, lots of treats for the pups!”
