Mackenzie and Dylan’s Engagement Session

Mackenzie and Dylan’s engagement session in Owensboro, Kentucky was MAGICAL!✨ We had an amazing time capturing their love & laughter in every sweet shot!  The beautiful weather plus that glorious sunshine made for some truly stunning photos!! How did you meet?!

“We went to the same high school, he was a senior when I was a freshman. We didn’t really know each other in high school, but both played sports that some times crossed paths. Fast forward to 9 years later and my cousin calls me to tell me there’s a guy her husband works with who is single and she wants to set me up with. Once she told told me who it was, my response was “I knew of him in high school, but I am not sure he is my type.” Dylan proceeded to reach out to me, and for about three weeks I wouldn’t give him the time of day. 🤣 Once I gave him an opportunity and got to know each other more, the rest was history!”

When did you start dating?

“August 2021!”

What was your first date?

“I brought Bella (my goldendoodle) over to Dylan’s house and we watched a movie!”

When did you two get engaged?

“December 19th, 2022 💙”

How did he propose?!

“I have to start out with a little of the back story. The week before Dylan proposed, he had told me to look at the new ornaments his mom bought us. I proceeded to walk over to the Christmas tree looking all over the place not finding any new ornament, after about 5 minutes I told him he was lying and there wasn’t any new ones. He told me he wanted to see how long I looked before telling me they were sitting on the kitchen counter. 🙃

Fast forward to 12/19/22, he came home after a work Christmas dinner, I was already showered and laying in bed since it was a work night. After about 5 minutes of walking in he proceeds to tell me to get up and come look at the new ornament he got, of course my response was “I’m not falling for that again.” After about 3 more times asking me, I got up went to look at the tree and it was an ornament that said 2022 happily engaged! I turned around and he was down on one knee and popped the question!

The even sweeter part of the proposal is he had no idea, but my dad proposed to my mom in a similar manner with a ring box that was an ornament and just the two of them at home!”

What are your favorite activities to do together?

“We enjoy hanging out by the pool in the summer time with friends and family. During football season we enjoy our Sunday football get togethers with friends!”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“We are always up for a weekend getaway every now and then! But for the most part, we like to have a chill weekend and game nights with friends and spend time with family!”

For Mackenzie: What are three things you love about Dylan?

“1. His whole-heartedly support and love he gives me everyday.

2. He is such a hard worker and always strives to do better.

3. His eyes!”

For Dylan: What are three things you love about Mackenzie?

“1. How much she loves me.

2. The trust and support she gives me.

3.How much she loves her family and friends.”

What do you both do for a living?

“Mackenzie is a Clinic Operations Administrator for Deaconess Clinic. Dylan is a Project Manager for Pittsburg Tank & Tower.”

Do you have any pets together?!

“Yes! We have a goldendoodle named Bella Grae! I had Bella for about a year before I met Dylan. Once I introduced her to Dylan, he fell in love with her! We for sure spoil her like crazy and treat her like she is the Queen of the house!”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“We loved how comfortable Bret and Brandie made us feel! The weather was absolutely perfect!”

Where did her outfits come from?

“TJ Maxx, Shein and Amazon!”

Where did his outfits come from?

“Amazon and TJ Maxx!”

“Go with the flow and have fun! :)”
