The Goedde Family Session

We ventured to the botanical gardens in Owensboro, Kentucky with these two cuties on the MOST stunning summer day for their engagement session!! ✨ AHH!! Watching Madelyn & Chase snuggle and dance throughout the flowers and gorgeous garden was pure magic!  They shared the sweetest giggles the entire time and were oh so full of happiness and love! We are #obsessed and cannot WAIT for their dreamy wedding day next year!!!  Read more about Madelyn & Chase below and keep scrolling to see a preview of their pretty engagement session!✨😍💕

How did you meet?

“We are from different towns, so we met through mutual friends during our sophomore year of high school when we all hung out together. We started dating our senior year of high school and have been together ever since!”

When did you start dating? What was your first date?

“We started officially dating on November 2, 2020. Our first date was in October of 2020! Chase came to my house to pick me up, and he met my parents. We went to Goebel Farms to pick out pumpkins, went out to eat, and came back to my house to carve pumpkins together!”

When did you get engaged?

“We got engaged on March 5, 2024!”

How did he propose?

“Over Spring Break, Chase, my sister, Michaella, and I went to London. On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, our day started with us getting breakfast at The Clermont and getting ready to go to the Borough Market in London. What I didn’t know was that I wasn’t going to the Borough Market because Chase had exciting plans for us. While putting my makeup on, Chase tells me I should wear my white dress. This raised some suspicion, but I still had no idea what our plans were. Chase and I took a two hour train ride to Chesterfield, and we finally arrived at Chase’s surprise destination, The Chatsworth House! I couldn’t believe it. The Chatsworth House is in my favorite movie, Pride and Prejudice (2005), where Mr. Darcy lived. It was so surreal seeing it in person. We walked around the grounds, took pictures, and drank hot chocolate. Afterwards, when I thought we were about to leave, Chase walked me over to the cutest picnic and PROPOSED! I have never been happier or more excited! Chase was secretly planning the proposal for several months, and he had a hidden photographer capturing our proposal. The whole day was so special, and March 5, 2024 was one of my favorite days ever!”

Do you have a favorite date you’ve ever been on together?

“Our favorite date we’ve been on together was when we went out to eat at The Prince of Wales Baslow in Bakewell, United Kingdom right after Chase proposed. We talked about his months of planning, when he bought the ring, and all the details. Our server gave us champagne and dessert that had “Congratulations!” written on it! Everyone was so friendly and excited for us. It was so magical!”

What are your favorite movies?

“My favorites are Pride and Prejudice (2005) (of course!), Little Women (1994) and (2019), and Mamma Mia! Chase’s favorites are Interstellar, Fight Club, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen!”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“We love to relax on the weekends and go on walks around our neighborhood! We also love going out to eat, golfing (Chase plays, and I watch from the golf cart!), shopping, and spending time with friends and family.”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“Chase has been my best friend ever since we started talking, so there are so many things I love about him. One thing I love about Chase is how caring he is. Chase can tell exactly how I’m feeling and what I’m thinking, and he is the best listener. He is always thinking of ways to show me how much he cares. He is full of fun date ideas or activities for us to do together, and he makes me feel so loved every single day. Another thing I love about Chase is his mindset. We balance each other out so well because of how calming he is. He is so supportive of my goals and helps me stay motivated. Chase is also amazing at making a plan. Whether we are in a new city or having a regular day at home, Chase is the best at planning out our day to make it fun. When Chase has a new goal, hobby, or project, he puts everything in it, and I love how passionate he is for the things he’s excited about. Lastly, I love Chase’s humor. He is always making me laugh, and we have so much fun together every day no matter what we are doing. I am so proud of him, and I am so excited to be engaged to my best friend and love of my life!”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“Picking just 3 things I love about Madelyn Claire seems a near-impossible task because of all the great things I’ve learned about her throughout our relationship, but I’ll try my best! One of the biggest things that come to mind is how caring she is to me and everything I do. No matter what task or new hobby I pick up, she is always there by my side to be my best friend. She always shows how much she cares by doing gestures, no matter how big or small, of love that mean so much to me throughout every day. Another thing I love about Madelyn is how she is always down for a date night, fancy or chill. She and I always find ourselves having a spur-of-the-moment date night that we probably planned that day. She is awesome about being able to make everything we do in our day-to-day lives feel like date night, whether it’s just a spontaneous Evansville trip or just going to drive around at night to talk about anything. One of the biggest and one of the things I’m most grateful for is the unconditional love Madelyn shows me and how she supports me to be a better person. She is always my #1 fan and knows just how to make me feel loved and appreciated every single day. I will always love that about her, and I am so excited to spend forever with her!!!”

What do you both do for a living?

“I am an Administrative Professional at Kemper CPA, and I am attending the University of Southern Indiana for Accounting. Chase just graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Mortuary Sciences. He plans on becoming a Licensed Funeral Director within the year and working with his parents at their family funeral home.”

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever been?

“Our favorite place we’ve ever been is London! We went over Spring Break, which is when we got engaged! We got to see so many new places and landmarks. We also watched Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, Six, and The Play That Goes Wrong in the West End!”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“Our favorite part of the engagement session was getting all dressed up and spending the evening together and getting to know Bret and Brandie before our big day! Bret and Brandie are the best at finding the perfect locations, lighting, and poses. Our engagement session was so amazing because of how fun they made it!”

Bride, did you get your hair & makeup professionally done for your session? If yes, who did it?

“Sydney Brown from Southern Roots in Evansville, Indiana curled my hair for our session!”

Where did her outfits come from?

“My white and blue floral dress came from Reformation. My blue strapless and beige linen dress both came from Aritzia!”

Where did his outfits come from?

“Chase dresses nice for work every day, so he already had everything in his closet! His button up shirts are from Charles Tyrwhitt, and his shoes are from Ecco. His khaki pants are VRST.”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Enjoy yourselves! I think back to our session and remember how fun it was! I hung up all of our outfits together so I could see what they looked like next to each other, and that really helped me! Try to find outfits that feel like you and make you excited for the session! Don’t be nervous at all if you are afraid of posing because Bret & Brandie are the absolute best and will make everything so easy and fun!”
