The Goedde Family Session

Emmie and Jackson’s engagement session at Centennial Park in Nashville was nothing short of miraculous, stunning and oh so sweet!! As soon as we arrived, the rain stopped, and the skies cleared, as if the universe knew it was time to shine! ✨ We spent the afternoon exploring the park, chasing the most dreamy light, and laughing non-stop with these two. They have the kind of love that feels like best friends who are absolutely meant to be together, and it was so special to capture those sweet, giggly moments! 😍 We’re completely obsessed with how these photos turned out and can’t wait for Emmie & Jackson’s wedding in Texas this Spring! Let the wedding countdown begin!!!📸💕

How did you meet?!

“We met at my fraternity party on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 after the University of Tennessee defeated the University of South Carolina 45 to 20 in Neyland Stadium. I caught a glimpse of Emmie across the gravel lot where the party was taking place and she immediately caught my attention! We locked eyes and I quickly turned away. I couldn’t help myself so I kept starring and thankfully she was looking back! We ended up chatting for 20-30 minutes during the party. We exchanged contact information and nothing really came of it…….”

What was your first date?

“Until I needed a date to a date party the following semester. I was with my friends at the Tennessee vs. Texas A&M basketball game at Thompson Boiling Arena On February 1st, 2022 in the side student section stands when I looked behind the basket and saw that pretty green eyed girl from Texas. I thought to myself, she would make an awesome date! I asked her and she said yes! Unfortunately, the date party was cancelled because our Social Chair had forgotten to book the venue… I had to draw up something quick in place, so I asked her to go to Sonic. We went to Sonic to get some drinks and had a great time!”

When did you start dating?

“March 9th, 2022”

When did you get engaged?

“July 5th, 2024”

How did he propose?!

“We were in Couer d’Alene, Idaho for our third 4th of July in a row there together. My (Emmie’s) family was already up there and Jackson and I had to fly up later because we were both working earlier in the week. On the fourth of July evening, Jackson told me he “wanted to go on a walk” after I was ready for the little 4th of July party my family was having with our family friends. I was a little taken off guard because I wasn’t expecting him to propose that night. We went on a walk and he took me to this lookout and then after standing there for a moment was like “okay, are you ready to go to the party?”. It was a fake proposal haha (he’s so proud of this). The next day, we had such a fun day riding 4wheelers in the trails and spending time with my family. That night, we had a “dinner party” planned with our neighbors in Idaho who were super close with and my grandparents. I got ready because I was told everyone was dressing up. Everyone in my family (including my brothers) was acting totally normal so I didn’t think anything was going to happen and I didn’t want to get my hopes up in case he didn’t propose that night. My mom asked Jackson and I to take some food she was bringing to our family friend’s house next door where the party was happening so we took it. After we set the food down inside their house, Jackson and I walked down to their backyard and he proposed! My mom took the photos and our families were both watching. Jackson’s parents had flown in to be there too. Afterwards, we had dinner on our friend’s porch and drank champagne and had ice cream. It was the best day of my life.”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“Our ideal weekend probably includes eating out at a Mexican restaurant, getting ice cream, spending time with our friends and family, watching college football, and going to church!”

For the her: What are three things you love about him?

“Jackson is one of the most consistent people I know… I never have to guess how he’s going to act. I also really appreciate how Jackson is not the loudest person in the room. He thinks before he speaks which makes his words so much more meaningful and thoughtful. Jackson is also so funny and really makes me laugh hahaha”

For the him: What are three things you love about her?

“Three things I love about Emmie are her beautiful green eyes, her maturity/wisdom, and her infectious heart for others. (She is AWESOME)”

“Our favorite place we have ever been together is Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho where we got engaged!”

Do you have any pets together?

“My favorite part was meeting Bret and Brandie! They are so good at their jobs and made it so fun and easy! Made me even more excited to have them as the photographers for our wedding!!! Jackson’s favorite part of the photoshoot was spending time with me at the beautiful park in downtown Nashville.”
