Rainy Downtown Newburgh Engagement Session

From the moment we met these two, we just KNEW how lucky we were that they chose us to photograph their wedding day! Kristen and Jordan met during nursing school through a mutual friend at a Halloween party. Jordan saved the day by spinning Kristen on the dance floor and rescuing her from a creepy guy – the rest, she says, is history! They are now both travel nurses…which how COOL is that?! However, this did make for a tricky time narrowing down a date for their engagement session since they are not local and have hectic schedules! (Nurses are the real MVPs!!)  After finally finding the perfect date, booking flights as well as hair & makeup appointments for Kristen…Southern Indiana gave us a rainy day forecast for their session. Given everything was already booked we really had no choice but to go for it!

And, friends, thank goodness we did because cue allll the positive vibes! These two literally smiled and giggled the entire time with umbrellas in tow.  This is why we consider ourselves SO very lucky to be Kristen and Jordan’s wedding photographers…because they took those lemons and made the sweetest lemonade. We met in downtown Newburgh to start their session and to be honest friends, it was not an ideal situation…BUT! Somehow they made dodging rain, ducking for cover and balancing umbrellas look SO gorgeous. I don’t even know how that’s possible but they did it! These two just have that kind of love that radiates off of them and unstoppable smiles to take on anything!

Kristen’s hair and makeup was pure perfection! She also did an amazing job with her outfit choices. We LOVE when our clients do something different like adding a fun, classy hat. (She totally pulls it off!!)  We also reallllly love when our clients get a little fancy just like Kristen did in her flowy, front-slit mauve dress. Get it girlfriend! Elements such as these can make your pictures just POP and takes the session to the next level!

We ended Kristen and Jordan’s engagement session in an overgrown field!  The rainfall slowed down just in time for us to get some stunning shots of Jordan dancing with Kristin and twirling her around this wide open field – dancing seems to be a favorite with these two 😉 After seeing this wonderful couple handle such a chaotic day so gracefully we truly cannot WAIT until their wedding day. We just pray the big day is blessed with lots of sunshine for them..but hey, if not, at least we know they are practically pros at juggling umbrellas! 😉
