A Rainy Wedding at The Corner House

Engagement sessions, sunset sessions, weddings and all the fields trips and meetings in between!! This is legit our FAVORITE time of the year!! Our calendars are bursting at the seams, but not nearly as much as our hearts. This next wedding really tugged at our heart strings, because we are OBSESSED with Meagan and Michael.

We absolutely adore Meagan and Michael. We were genuinely beyond blessed, excited, thrilled, tickled pink and all of the above when they asked us to be their photographers!! We knew immediately during their engagement session that they were going to be awesome to work with because they were the most cuddly, cozy, and photogenic couple EVER. We had a blast then so knew the wedding would be just as fun! We spent the next few months planning with them for their day. We were so excited when that day finally arrived!

It was going to be another weekend that the forecast was probably not going to work in our favor. The forecast leading up to the wedding was a little less than stellar. There was a high percentage of rain and storms that was being predicted. Meagan and Michael took this as a chance to “dance in the rain” and didn’t let the wet surroundings get them down. We first met all of the girls at The Hampton Inn in Owensboro, KY. The suites in this hotel are one of our favorite getting ready places! It is an absolute dream watching our brides get ready there. The suites offer floor-to-ceiling windows letting in allllll the natural light. Give us natural light and you have some really happy photographers! Give us a few good windows and a beautiful bride and we are set! 

After everyone was ready to go, we ventured over to their ceremony and reception venue! Meagan and Michael tied the knot at The Corner House Bed and Breakfast in Rockport, Indiana. The Corner House is a wedding and event venue in the southern Indiana area that we love — not only do we have a lot of hometown pride for this venue, but it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL. It is by far one of our favorite venues, so we were super excited to be there for their wedding day! Meagan and her mom transformed the barns into a stunning ceremony space covered in greenery and all of their personal touches. They had the most beautiful parchment paper backdrop and there were so many little incredible details. EVERY single detail of space had been thought through during their planning process. The event barns were literally transformed into a one-of-a-kind space!

 

We shot their first look in the very spot where Meagan and Michael would tie the knot. It was seriously one of the sweetest, most emotional first looks that we’ve ever done! We loved watching them fall into each others arms. There were tears, then there were giggles, and then the cycle repeated a few times! Our hopeless romantic hearts were melting! It was magical in every sense of the word! 

After the first look, the most beautiful ceremony took place. Meagan and Michael enjoyed the rest of the afternoon dancing in between rain drops, having the time of their lives! This couple’s bridal party was blast and a half, but I honestly think it was the kiddos that stole the show. It was just the most fun day all-around. We are always so blessed to watch our amazing couples be surrounded by the sweetest of friends and family celebrating their special love.
