A Cute and Cuddly Engagement Session in Carmel, IN

Abbi and Josh’s engagement session in Carmel, Indiana was absolutely perfect.  We explored The Palladium and ventured to Coxhall Gardens on the most BEAUTIFUL autumn afternoon!  Their sweet snuggles at sunset and giddy giggles were the sweetest!! 💕 Get to know Abbi & Josh a little more by checking out their cute Q&As below!

How did you meet?

“We are both from the westside of Evansville. We have known of each other since we were in grade school but didn’t become close friends until we both went to Mater Dei for high school. The first time we actually met was at the Corpus Christi Summer Social back in 2010.”

What was your first date?

“Our first date was the summer after we graduated from high school. We road tripped to St. Louis for a Cardinals game. It rained the entire game and we had to wear ponchos. On the way home, I fell asleep and woke up as we were pulling into a gas station in the middle of nowhere…Josh went in and bought last week’s hot dog off of a roller inside…to this day I won’t let him live that down.”

When did you get engaged?

“We got engaged on December 21, 2019.”

How did he propose?

“Right before we were going to head home to Evansville for the holiday season, Josh surprised me with tickets to go ice skating at the outdoor ice skating rink at the Carmel Cristkindlmarkt. I had wanted to go for years and was so excited to finally get the opportunity. We skated for a while and on our last lap around Josh stopped in the middle of the ice and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most special moment of my life. We were so lucky because Josh’s sister, Ashley, and her boyfriend, Beau both drove up so that they could capture pictures of our moment. We went home back to Evansville the next day and were able to share the news with both of our families during Christmas. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect proposal!”

What are your favorite activities to do together?

“We love to spend our free time watching sports, going on walks with our dogs, and spending time with our friends and family. We are so busy at this stage in our life; we are happiest doing the simple things.”

Describe yourselves as a couple.

“Josh is the most outgoing, unapologetically himself type of person. He brings out the best in me and always shows me how to make light of situations and see the best in things. I am definitely the more serious, always looking the pros and cons of every situation before making a decision. I think we make a great team and balance out each other perfectly.”

If you could go anywhere on a vacation, where would you go?

“Josh’s dream is to go to every baseball field in the US, so one day we would love to take a few road trips and visit a bunch along the way. My #1 would be to go to Greece together!”

Do you have any pets together?

“We have two petite Goldendoodles, Heidi & Rory. We love them so much and treat them like children!”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“We loved how organized Bret and Brandie were! They knew exactly where we needed to go, how we needed to pose, and every little detail that was necessary for each picture. We couldn’t imagine our engagement session going more perfectly than it did!”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Start planning outfits ahead of time to make sure you have absolutely everything you need (including jewelry, accessories, or even a bandana for your dog). Other than that, Bret and Brandie made everything so easy and carefree on the day of our pictures. Their engagement session guide helped so much and was the perfect checklist to make sure we had every little detail taken care of.”
