A Southern Illinois Engagement Session

Ahh!! These two are EVERYTHING! 💕 Roxanne and Matthew are such a sensational couple full of life, love and giggles.  Capturing their sweet engagement session was oh so much fun and we had the best time laughing with them.  We love these two (And sweet Paisley) SO much!!  Read more about Roxanne & Matthew’s sweet love story below!  

How did you meet?

“My mom and Matthew’s mom were in a Bible study together when we were babies, so we grew up knowing who each other were. One day I distinctly remember telling my two best friends, “Oh my goodness Matthew Paddick just added me on Snapchat.” For nearly two years he would occasionally send me a Snapchat picture or reply to a story I posted, and I never responded mostly because I figured he was sending me mass Snapchats. Finally one day I decided to respond and we’ve spent every day together since! Later I found out that he was specifically trying to take good pictures to send to me in hopes I would respond!”

What was your first date?

“We rented a movie to watch at Matthew’s house, but ended up spending the evening talking instead.”

Do you have a favorite date you’ve ever been on together?

“Spending a weekend together in Chicago and riding the ferris wheel at Navy Pier.”

When did you get engaged?

“September 5, 2020”

How did he propose?

“Matthew surprised me with a new Lilly Pulitzer dress and supper at my absolute favorite restaurant, Andrew’s at the Westbrook in Paris, Illinois, with him and Paisley!”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“Spending time together and playing with Paisley!”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“Matthew is hard working and knows how to fix anything, he is thoughtful, and he always makes Paisley and me laugh.”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“Her ability to always make others laugh, how she always dresses for the occasion, and her endless support in all my projects.”

Describe yourselves as a couple!

“We are a very busy couple. We always seem to have various projects going on, and in our free time we enjoy spending time with our family and friends.”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“Bret and Brandie made it simple and made us feel comfortable taking pictures and giving us directions on how to pose. It was enjoyable and effortless, we laughed the whole time!”

Where did her outfits come from?

“The pink dress and the blue and white dress are Lilly Pulitzer, and the embroidered denim dress is from Goodnight Macaroon.”

Where did his outfits come from?

The plaid shirt is Southern Marsh, the vest is Simply Southern, and the other outfits are from Men’s Warehouse.

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Be yourself and have as much fun as we did!”
