A Sweet Southern Indiana Engagement Session

Hannah and Cody’s fall engagement session was nothing short pf MAGICAL and we are pretty much obsessed with every. single. photo!!!  AHH!!  These two are SO fun to be around & have the sweetest giggles!! Oh and not to mention how incredibly stylish these two are!! We were seriously in photographer heaven with Hannah and Cody!!  Get to know these sweet lovebirds a little more by checking out their featured Q/As below!

How did you two meet?

“We met in high school! We always knew of each other and had lots of mutual friends, but never actually talked to one another. One night after my softball game, we were formally introduced in the high school parking lot! Cody put his phone number into my phone and I gave him my phone number. He texted me later that night to make sure I made it home safely. The rest is history. ☺️”

What was your first date?

“Neither of us can remember what our first date was, but it was probably either driving around backroads or hanging out at a friends house. Cody and I use to drive around Boonville and listen to music all the time! Florida Georgia Line, Justin Moore, and Brantley Gilbert were our favorites back then!!”

When did you start dating?

“We started officially dating in the summer of 2014!”

When did you get engaged?

“December 27, 2019!”

How did he propose?

“Cody surprised me on my birthday (August 10) with a trip to New York City. We were to fly out the day after Christmas. Cody told me it was a birthday present and late graduation present all in one. Everyone kept saying he was going to propose while we were there, but I truly did not think it would happen. 

On December 27, we spent the morning watching the Radio City Rockettes at the Radio City Music Hall followed by shopping on Fifth Avenue and pictures by the famous Christmas tree. Cody and my brother, Caleb, told me that they were going to go to the Lego store while I went into Saks Fifth Avenue. They said we would meet up at the Christmas tree when they were finished. I was completely CLUELESS!! Little to my knowledge, Cody and Caleb had gone to meet the photographer (YES, a photographer) to set up for the proposal. Shortly later, I walked over and met up with them. Caleb wondered if I wanted to get more pictures in front of the tree since they had blocked off a road by this time (THE PERFECT PHOTO OP). I love pictures, so naturally I said YES. Cody and I got into position to take a picture and he looked at me and said “you know I will always love you right?” I just looked at him like “duh” and didn’t think anything of it, just continued to get our picture taken. Next thing, I knew he was down on one knee and everyone around us was cheering and clapping. Neither one of us know what he said in that moment or what I said! It was the most magical engagement. After the proposal, Cody introduced me to our photographer and I was in complete SHOCK. We spent the next hour walking around New York City taking engagement pictures. That night we celebrated at Tavern on the Green in Central Park for dinner. 

Side note… Cody had this planned since April 2019 and had my ring since then, too!”

What are your favorite activities to do together?

“We love spending time with family and friends! We also love just relaxing on the couch and watching our favorite shows.”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“1.) His drive and determination to provide for himself and our future. He has always worked so hard for what he wants and never gives up.

2.) I love how encouraging he is. He is always encouraging me to do my best and be the best that I can be.

3.) I love how big of a heart Cody has. He would do absolutely anything for anyone.”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“1.) Her care for myself and for others.

2.) Faithfulness, she has always stood by my side through the good and bad. 

3.) Her drive to accomplish anything she wants”

Bride, did you get your hair & makeup professionally done for your session? If yes, who did it?!

“I got my hair done by Lacey Resenbeck.”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Don’t be nervous! Bret and Brandie are WONDERFUL and will tell you exactly what to do. Relax and have fun!!”
