Brunch weddings with wild in love couples may just be our favorite thing ever!! Jessica and Tim’s sweet wedding celebration was pure perfection…these two radiated love, their sweet family was ADORABLE, the celebration was full of joy and to top off the list it was a glorious Spring day! BEST DAY EVER! We are oh so excited to share a some of their sweet photos and ridiculously cute Q/As below! Check them out! 😍
“Tim was about to take a break on finding his perfect match and focus on his career and return to active duty and I had just decided to start what I thought would be the hardest search ever for someone I could love and be a perfect fit for the kids. We met on an online dating website and immediately fit together. The interest started around a comment about Jess’ bucket list desire to learn to fly and Tim already having his pilot’s license and love of flying. We found that each other met all of the requirements and more on our LONG lists of requirements. Once we started talking and met in person, we were both in love pretty quickly. The relationship had its obstacles as we lived two hours apart, but the drive was always worth it for both of us. Our personalities and dreams fit perfectly together. Tim wanted to finish his career with the military which meant moving around the country, and Jess loves to travel and move and making every day an adventure. Jess’ kids Elijah and Eleni fell in love just as fast as Jess did and Tim’s heart melted to them the first day together.
We both realized we’d found that perfect person and were ready to build a life together. After passing the “we love to travel together” test on a trip to Saint Martin in October, Tim told me he wanted to spend forever together and proposed, and I said “ask me again later” *gasp! (I had promised myself I wouldn’t just say yes to the next person who asked me to marry them because they asked) But then I realized how silly it was to say no just to meet others’ expectations and said “let’s do this!” just weeks later; it was what I truly wanted for me.
A surprise job offer came sooner than expected for Tim the beginning of January and we officially tied the knot at the courthouse the next day and took our first family of four trip down to Mississippi to house hunt. With everything happening on such a quick timeline, we planned a small intimate wedding to commemorate vows that were so important to us and celebrate with family and friends. It was the perfect day to kickstart our new life together. We couldn’t be more in love.”
“We were engaged for like 10 seconds. Haha! We learned we didn’t need a long engagement. We knew we were supposed to be together forever and so why wait?!”
“Our wedding was small and magical with dusty light blues, eucalyptus, navy and gold. The day was filled with people special to us and several of our favorite things. One of my non-negotiables for the wedding were having fresh cut Black Eyed Beauty Anemone flowers and blue thistle. The arrangement made my Emerald Design was perfect as it captured the perfect amount of dramatic elegance and wild nature; which sort of matches our relationship too.
The night before our wedding, we met with friends at Walton’s (where we had our first date!)
The wedding was at Myriad which is special to me because it is owned by friends, Jason and Jamie, and we also stopped by there the night of our first date! Some of our other favorite things are detailed in other questions!! It was also very special that a few of my high school students came and helped serve food. It is meaningful that they care enough about me as their teacher as well that they’d be willing to give up a Sunday morning to serve.”
Jess – “My favorite part of our wedding day was getting to share the love Tim and the kids and I all have for each other with our family and friends all amidst a beautiful dreamy setting. I kept tearing up with joy realizing how lucky the kids and I are to have Tim love us the way he does. Seeing the joy and excitement in the kids for this new family is overwhelming.”
Tim – “Marrying Jess twice. And Eleni coming over and hugging me in the middle of the ceremony.”
The kids – “We were so happy to show everyone that we were getting another dad who we love so much!”
Tim – “Yes. ‘I didn’t know I had a choice.’”
Jess – “Tim always looks so handsome, but it is fun to build the suspense and capture a magical moment of seeing each other just before the wedding and letting the realness of the day catch up with us.”
“We always joke about how when we first met we were already giving each other “the look” of wanting to be with each other forever and it feels that way every time we see other again after we are apart. I love that we are able to capture that experience in pictures.”
“We are so excited to settle in to our new home in Mississippi all together as a family. We love to travel, so that will happen too, but for now we can’t wait to experience the “everyday” with each other.”
“ONLY THREE THINGS?! Not possible!!
Tim is so intentional with loving me and the kids. He is the perfect travel partner, the best role model for Elijah and Eleni, he is responsible yet super fun, he enjoys being “extra” with me, but is also down to earth, he’s incredibly handsome, and I could listen to him talk for hours. (And I could go on…)”
“I love that she is uber intelligent and caring and I enjoy all the feelings I get when we are together.”
(He’s a rule follower. You said three… you only get three)
“Hire a wedding planner first (specifically a shout out to Megan!) and then make your dream day happen! Fill it with people and things that bring you joy.”
“So technically we were already married and were proudly wearing our rings… we may have accidentally forgotten to take our rings back off “insert long pause and an oops!” When Nicole said, “we will now exchange the rings.””
“Since we were legally already married, I was able to have my (other) best friend, Nicole “officiate” our wedding. She led the ceremony beautifully and it was so special for me to have her marry me to the love of my life as we have walked with each other through some really hard years.”
“We ordered catering from Just Rennie’s: Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole and Green Bean salad (I love green beans!)”
“Instead of an elaborate wedding cake, we opted for a small carrot cake (a favorite of ours) and French donuts and hand pies from second language (a place we love to have morning dates) and a coffee bar from river city (did I mention another thing I love about Tim is his love for espresso and how he makes me fancy lattes in the morning?). We also had our favorite drinks (Old Fashioned – Tim) and (Reisling – me)… (and another thing I love about Tim is that he makes delicious cocktails).”
“We had little bags of Black Forrest Organic Gummy Bears. Tim LOVES gummies and these are a particular favorite of his (and the kids)”
