Sierra & Eddie’s Wedding at The Corner House

Sierra and Eddie’s wedding day was absolutely magical!! 😍 We had the BEST time celebrating their sweet new marriage, and seeing their family & friends surround them with SO much love & support was heartwarming! Tell us a bit about your wedding!

“Our wedding was at The Corner House in Rockport, Indiana. We chose The Corner House for our ceremony and reception location because we instantly fell in love with the property as soon as we saw pictures! There’s a bed and breakfast where the bridal party stays the night on Friday night and can get ready the day of the wedding. The ceremony was held at the top of the hill, and the reception (our favorite part) was held inside the two beautiful barns just outside the backyard of the bed and breakfast. The barns are so beautiful and open we didn’t have to do much decorating to make our wedding day special. Our wedding colors were dusty rose and sage green, and the guys wore light grey suits. Jenny, the wonderful owner of Corner House, helped decorate everything for us and even did all our bouquets, boutonnieres, flower crowns for the flower girls, and flower arrangements! She is truly amazing.”

What BIG lesson did you learn throughout your wedding planning?!

“Your wedding is all about you and your husband/wife, so make sure the day is planned exactly how you two want it! Opinions from family and friends are encouraged and important, but at the end of the day it’s all about you and what YOU want. We kept some traditions of a “typical wedding,” but also did without a lot of them, and that was fine with us because it was exactly what we wanted. Our wedding was perfect!”

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Eddie- “Watching my best friend walk down the aisle! And celebrating all night with all our family and friends!”

Sierra- “Marrying my best friend, of course! I also loved being able to have all my family and friends together in one place celebrating with us. Nothing means more to us than family, and it meant so much to us that we could have all our friends and family, even out of town family, attend our wedding day.”

Did you go on a honeymoon?

“Yes! We left the Monday after our wedding! We went to St. Lucia!”

Favorite honeymoon memory?

“Our entire honeymoon was MAGICAL! It’s hard to pick just one memory! We really loved one excursion we went on, however. It was called the “Joe Knows Tour.” We went out on a speed boat, and our tour guide Cocoa Stick taught us all about St. Lucia and its history. We stopped and took pictures of different landmarks, including the Pitons Mountains. When we did the land part of this tour we did a mud bath (which was very interesting!), cooled off under a beautiful waterfall, and even went snorkeling! On the way back to the resort we had a chicken creole lunch on the boat and danced with Cocoa Stick and Captain Ozzy back to shore. It was such a fun trip! The best part about our honeymoon, I think, was the limited cell service we both had since we were out of the country. We were able to spend more time together as husband and wife and just enjoy each other.”

Did you two do a first look?!

“Yes we did! We decided to do a first look because we wanted that more intimate moment between us whenever we saw each other for the first time on our wedding day. We also had written letters to each other for the day of the wedding that we were going to exchange that had our vows written in them. We also wanted to get as many pictures done before the ceremony as possible so our wedding guests weren’t waiting forever after the ceremony for us to do pictures.”

Tell us allll about it!!

“Our first look was magical! We both stood on either side of one of the big barn doors and held hands. Bret and Brandie snapped a few pictures and then gave us our letters to exchange with each other. We both read each other’s letters, and then Eddie stepped around the barn door to me. There was nothing but smiles from ear to ear on his face and he kept saying, ‘Oh, WOW!” I couldn’t have planned a better first look!”

What’s next? What are you two planning on tackling next in life?

“We just bought a house within the last two years, and we have some plans on different home projects including building a new fence in the backyard for our puppy Daisy, creating a dining room, and some other home projects. We’re also hoping to tackle parenting as our next adventure very soon!”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“I love how genuine and caring Eddie is. Eddie has the biggest heart of anyone I know and doesn’t know a stranger. I love how he can always make me laugh, no matter the situation. We have fun all the time, even if we’re just grocery shopping. I love how dedicated and loyal Eddie is. Whether it’s work or family, he always puts 110% into everything he does.”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“1. Her heart. She is the most caring person I know and the best dog mom to Daisy. 2. She is very organized and great at planning things. 3. She is very motivated. She sets goals and always achieves them.”

Bride tell us a bit about who was the most helpful in helping you pull off your dream wedding?

“There is no way I could have had my dream wedding without the help of every single one of my bridesmaids and my mom. These ladies truly went above and beyond for me throughout this whole process, and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. From them pushing me to try on wedding dresses I never though I would like (and choosing the one I said I didn’t want in the first place- strapless, with lots of lace), to planning every little detail with me, and even helping me through a mini freak out when my first seamstress told me to come pick up my dress 60 DAYS before the wedding because she was retiring and wasn’t going to have my dress ready by the wedding. These girls were there for me every step of the way and were true angels. I could never thank them enough for all they did for me.”

Advice for other couples who are planning their own wedding right now?

“Get everything done for your wedding as soon as you can! If you think it’s too soon, it probably isn’t! We thought we had a long time to order our cake/cupcakes and get that all figured out, but when the time came and we ordered it, they were already booked up for our wedding weekend and we had to have someone pick up the cake for us because they weren’t able to deliver it that day. Communication is KEY! With your soon to be husband/wife, bridal party, family, etc. Let others help you do things and plan things. You may think you can do it all on your own, but you’d be surprised at how much one task being taken off your plate can really ease some wedding planning stress!”

What is something unique you incorporated into your wedding?

“Our last name is Crabtree, so we had little crabs almost everywhere! We had crab figurines as cake toppers. I had blue crab earrings. One of my bridesmaids drew a crab and a tree on the chalk board for our appetizer bar sign. I even had the very first ring Eddie gave me in part of my getting ready photos- it was a red crab ring he got off a cupcake years ago!”

“My Best Friend by Tim McGraw”

Ceremony music?

“The bridal party walked down to A Thousand Years by Christina Perry, and I walked down the aisle with my dad to Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley.”

How big was your wedding party?

“5 Bridesmaids and 5 Groomsmen”

Reception dinner: buffet or served?

“We had Ole South BBQ, and it was served buffet style!”

Reception: open bar or cash bar?

“Open bar with beer and Oliver wine.”

What dessert did you serve at your reception?

“We had a naked cake as the cake we cut and cupcakes (vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet) for all our wedding guests from Gayla Cake. We also had delicious chocolates as wedding favors from Stephen Libs. Eddie is good friends with the owner’s son!”

Did you give out a wedding favor?!

“Yes! We had the chocolates from Stephen Libs, and we also had can koozies in 3 different colors.”
