Abby and Wes’s wedding day was absolutely magical and full of amazing memories! We had the BEST time celebrating their sweet new marriage, and seeing their family & friends surround them with SO much love & support was heartwarming!! We just love these two so much!! It’s couples like Abby and Wes that make our job oh so incredible and our hearts oh so full! BEST DAY EVER!! ❤️  Here’s to Abby & Wes…and here’s to their love, laughter and happily ever after!!😍✨🥂

Tell us a bit about your wedding!!

“Our wedding was traditional, classy, fun, with a little modern thrown in as well. We liked the classic wedding rituals, but also wanted to add a few things to make it our own special day. The ceremony and reception was held at the Evansville Country Club. It was a very chilly day, but everyone braved the wind and the ceremony was held outside. Our colors were burgundy and gold with an olive green accent.”

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

“The best part of our wedding day was the first look and the exchanging of letters. A very sentimental moment between us before the ceremony. The father speech given by Abby’s dad was a special memory too!”

Did you go on a honeymoon?

“Yes! We traveled outside the country for the first time to Bora Bora. It was paradise that almost didn’t seem real. We stayed in an overwater bungalow that allowed us to swim in the lagoon anytime we wanted. It was gorgeous!!

One of our favorite honeymoon memories was snorkeling with the sharks and stingrays. Another memory is getting the best massages of our life! We felt so fancy and got to watch the fish swim underneath us through the floor window during the whole thing. Definitely experiences we won’t forget!”

Did you two do a first look?!

“Yes! We wanted the first look to be private so we could enjoy that moment just the two of us and not in front of everyone walking down the aisle. It was a magical moment that we will always remember.”

What’s next? What are you two planning on tackling next in life?

“Hoping to start a family soon!”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“I love how thoughtful and caring he is. He always puts others before himself. He has a great sense of humor that always make me laugh. He makes life fun and truly makes me so happy!”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“I love her determination and how hard working she is. We can laugh at the same things together. She is so caring and thoughtful. I truly found my soulmate.”

Tell us a bit about who was the most helpful in helping you two pull off your dream wedding?!

“The top three: First, my parents! They made sure I got everything I wanted and needed to make this the wedding that I have dreamed of since I was little. Second, Bailey McDaniel. She was the wedding coordinator through ECC and made everything so easy. She was there for advice along the way and was the one keeping everything on track for the rehearsal night and day of…she is AMAZING! Third, Bret and Brandie. Their personalities just make you smile and their energy is contagious. They helped so much along the way with their wedding book and reminder emails. Things you wouldn’t even think of they would tell you about. They also made the timeline for the day of events which helped tremendously…they truly are the BEST!! There is so many people I could thank from Bailey Marie Studio who is so talented and created the most beautiful invitations and seating chart; to Jane Elpers from OBJ Design who brought my vision to life and nailed the decorations; to Morgan Tenbarge and Molly at Roots Hair studio that created the perfect look and are oh so talented; to Dirk & Kelly at Brinker’s who answered our many questions and helped us pick out our bands and ring; to Michelle at Shannon’s School of Dance that helped with our first dance and father daughter musical number…she is a great teacher with lots of patience; to Shane and Jackson with Senior Events who were so easy to work with and created a fun atmosphere both on the dance floor and the photo booth; to Wayne Patterson who flew from Oregon to marry us..it meant the world to us to have him here; to David with David Horner Film who captured the video/audio of the day and again was easy to work with and truly gifted in his field; to ECC for being so accommodating and working with us to assure the day went smooth; to Jayme at J’Petals for creating the most beautiful bouquets and boutonnières…she is brilliant at floral design; to Lizzy at Ella Park Bridal for helping me find my dream dress; to Paul’s Men’s Wear who helped with the suits and had top notch customer service. The wedding day was so MAGICAL with the help from all of these vendors🥰”

Advice for other couples who are planning their own wedding right now?

“You need a day of wedding coordinator. They help keep the day on schedule and it takes the stress off the bride and groom.”

Did anything hilarious/unexpected happen?!

“It was colder and winder than expected! Thanks to the officiant, Wayne Patterson, who kept the ceremony short and sweet so everyone could get back inside to the warmth.”

What is something unique you incorporated into your wedding?

“We had an audio guestbook that allowed guests to record words of wisdom, a joke, well-wishes, love, or anything they wanted. Many years from now, the messages will help us remember how being surrounded by our families and friends was the perfect beginning to our lives together as husband and wife! Another unique aspect of our wedding was the end of the father daughter dance when Abby and her Dad joined in together for a funny musical dance that created a good laugh by all!”
