How did you meet?!

“We met at Brother’s Bar and Grill in Bloomington, IN. I was a senior and he was a junior who had just transferred to IU that semester. It was December of 2021 right before Christmas break when we met. I was sitting in a booth with my girlfriends and he was with some buddies and I could see him STARING at me out of the corner of my eye. Eventually, we made eye contact and he came over to ask if we would like a drink. We said yes and he and his friends ended up sitting with us and we talked all night. It was easy and comfortable and of course I thought he was cute.

We exchanged numbers that night. Students all went home for Christmas break not long after we met. We never texted over Christmas break and then the beginning of second semester, we were in the same class. World Arts and Cultures, one out of hundreds of electives to choose from, what are the odds!! I didn’t see him in class since there was about 150 students in the class. However, he saw me and tapped me on the shoulder after class. The rest is history!!”

What was your first date?

“Our first date was sweet. He picked me up for a nice dinner at Southern Stone. I remember he ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered salmon. He ate every last bite and I think I took 3 bites. Lol! After, he dropped me off at home but I remember sitting in the car talking with him for 3 hours before I got out. Again, it was so comfortable and easy talking to each other. It felt like we had known each other for so long and that is something neither of us have ever felt before. That was the moment we both knew that this was something special.”

Do you have a favorite date you’ve ever been on together?

“Our favorite date together would have to be when we went to dinner at the Top of the World restaurant in the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. We went there the week we got engaged. It was very special celebrating our engagement with each other and the food and the view were out of this world! 😍”

When did you start dating?

“We started dating March 20, 2022.”

When did you get engaged?

“April 29, 2024”

How did he propose?!

“We had planned a week long trip to Las Vegas for Spring Break. I thought he might propose but everyone I asked tricked me so I assumed it wouldn’t happen that trip. We got to the hotel around 3:30pm. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well so I told Parker I was going to freshen up my makeup before we left to explore the city (turns out I had bronchitis). As I was doing my makeup in the bathroom, he told me he has a gift for me and asked me to come to him in the living area. It was that moment I thought he might be proposing. I walked in there and he got on one knee, said the sweetest things and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! ❤️”

What are your favorite activities to do together?

“We love to work out together, go on long walks, play pickleball, try new restaurants, go on spontaneous trips, and spend quality time with our friends and families.”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“Boating with family and friends is one of our favorite things to do on the weekends!!”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“I love his personality. He has the sweetest, softest side to him but also the goofiest side. I love his face. Lol! He’s a handsome one 😍 I love how loved he is. Of course his family and my family love him. He also has SO many friends that care deeply about him. He’s a very social person and treats people with so much kindness.”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“1. Her personality. I love how genuine and nice she is to me and to the people she loves. She is truly the most unselfish person I’ve ever met and would do anything for the people she loves. 2. Her beautiful eyes and smile. Especially when she laughs! She is absolutely beautiful and when she laughs and brings out those beautiful blue eyes and amazing smile, there is nothing better. 3. How open she is to trying new things. She is always open to try a new restaurant, cocktail, or even a hobby she’s never done before. She makes the most out of any situation she’s in and brings so much happiness to the people around her.”

If you could go anywhere on a vacation, where would you go?

“Italy for both of us! It’s on our bucket list!”

What’s something you are both passionate about?

“Living life to the fullest. This sounds sad but you aren’t guaranteed tomorrow so we find it important to not stress about the small things and to do what makes us happy. All while treating others with kindness.”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“We loved how easy it was. You both are so professional at what you do, it made the experience truly enjoyable and easy! We also loved how uncomfortable it was at times because it made us laugh very hard at each other 🤣”

Where did her outfits come from?

“Green dress: Dillards Gold heels: DSW White dress: Lulu’s Nude heels: DSW”

Where did his outfits come from?

“Navy dress pants: Express White dress shirt: Kohls Dress shoes: Johnston & Murphy Light blue linen shirt: J.Crew Light khaki pants: J. Crew White sneakers: DSW”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Shop for your outfits as early as you can! We waited until the last minute and felt a bit stressed. Also, physically go shopping together. We ordered everything online at first and had to send it all back. Which is why we were scrambling in the end! Lastly, enjoy yourselves and take Bret & Brandie’s advice and go on a date after 🥰”
