Tell us about your businesses!

“The Learning Academy is a Nature School, Reggio inspired and growing. We serve the ever growing small community of Henderson and will be looking to expand in the future.

Cheesey Chix Cheeseballs has been established for years and was just recently purchased in June of 2024. We are a fundraising business serving KY, IL, and IN and hope to expand by offering these year round and expanding the menu to offer seasonal cheeseballs.”

What are 3 words you would use to describe your biz?

“The Learning Academy: Inspiring, child led, messy!

Cheesey Chix Cheeseballs: Creative, tasty, and community driven!”

What is next for you and your businesses? What are you currently working on?

“We hope to purchase land soon and have a private building to serve as an independent preschool in the next 2 years for The Learning Academy.

And we are working on our first of the year fundraisers for Cheesey Chix Cheeseballs. We are nervous and excited to keep this wonderful business going!”

What is your favorite part of being your own boss?

“I have worked tirelessly to get where I am, so many sacrifices, sleepless nights, missed vacations, and time away from my children but nothing comes without this. My favorite part is being able to be there for my children more, have flexibility by employing trusting staff and be able to help coach others to reach and take ahold of their dreams!”

What does your morning routine look like?

“I am an early riser, take time each day to do my Starbucks run by myself for that 20 min of solidarity, then head back home to get everyone moving for the day. Its a tad chaotic but it’s my normal and it works!”

What is your go-to coffee order?

“Grande Blonde Roast, Splenda, Brown Sugar Syrup, Vanilla Syrup and Splash of Heavy Cream!”

What is your favorite productivity hack?

“I work so much better late at night or in the middle of the night, of course this is never an option but I always make a to-do list each day and this helps me stay organized and visualize what I did actually get done in a day!”

What is your favorite business book or podcast?

“A Billion Hours of Good, How to Think with Intention, and The Communication Book”

What would you tell someone who is thinking about booking a branding session with B&B?

“DO IT!!! Get over the nerves, spend the money, invest in yourself and your business!”

What was your favorite part of your branding session with B&B?

“All of it, it was nice to connect with other small business owners and really focus on my image as a small business owner and realize that investing in myself was finally what I needed to really put myself out there in order to grow and be visible.”
