The Goedde Family Session

Oh we had the privilege and sweet honor of photographing Teddy’s Baek-il – his 100th day celebration!! We were thrilled to spend the afternoon @ Evansville Country Club with the Yuk Family capturing some memories from Teddy’s special Korean tradition!! Read allll about the celebration and hear from the Yuk family below, then keep scrolling to see a small preview of the beautiful photos!😍📸✨

What was this celebration for?

“Our event was for our sweet Teddy’s 100 day old Korean celebration called a Baek-il. Teddy is half Korean so we wanted to celebrate this special tradition. In the past in Korea, when babies were 100 days old, they would have a big celebration since babies unfortunately didn’t usually live that long so the parents would hide the infants at home for the first 99 days and the 100th day was the first time the babies would meet their families. We wanted to celebrate this tradition with our close family. Teddy wore his traditional Korean outfit called a Honbok!”

What was your favorite memory from the celebration?

“Our favorite memory was having our closest family and friends present to celebrate Teddy and be a part of this tradition. The best part was having Brandie and Bret to capture our beautiful day together as well.”

Did anything hilarious or unexpected happen?

“Within minutes of having his Honbok on, Teddy tore a button off and we had use a clothes pin to shut it 🤪”

What are you excited to tell Teddy about this special celebration?

“We cannot wait to tell him that we celebrated his Baek-Il when we moved to Indiana from NYC with his family and he wore the traditional Honbok which we will keep forever and show him. We also FaceTimed his Aunt Cindy in New Jersey to show her everything as well and Teddy got to see her!”

What is something that makes your family special?

“Something that makes our family special is that we will always be sure to incorporate Korean traditions into Teddy’s life so he knows how special his Korean history is.”

What’s next for your family?!

“We have lots of traveling coming up since we have family that live on the east coast that we cannot wait to visit!”

What was your favorite part of your session with B&B?

“We lived not only celebrating with our family but having B&B present to forever capture the time that we had. Teddy is too small for him to remember that day but we are fortunate to have photos to explain it all to him thanks to you all!”
