A Perfect Fall Wedding at Good Shepherd Church

We have had just the best little week this week and it just keeps getting better! We had a few mini sessions this week, and an engagement session at one of our favorite venues, the Corner House Bed and Breakfast in Rockport, Indiana!! We got to meet one of our sweet friends’ newborn baby and I must say that Bret was OBSESSED with little Miss Tinley…probably because she was so stinking ADORABLE!!! Oh…AND MY BEST FRIEND GOT ENGAGED AND WE WERE THERE TO WITNESS IT!! Seriously…it’s just been the best week! I want to introduce you to one of the sweetest, most adorable couples on the whole planet. We were given a very chilly day the first day that we got Jessica and Nick in front of a camera. We actually spent the first part of their engagement session inside the Creme Coffee shop in Owensboro, Kentucky warming up before we ventured out! We knew from that session forward that we were bound to have a blast with these two. A few weeks ago, right before the wedding, we took them out on a date night! We always try to take our clients on double date night. It is always a fun little experience to get to hear about their wedding planning and where they are at in their process. It is so stinking fun to spoil our couples in any and every way! We spent our date night at Walton’s international Comfort Food in Evansville and I was absolutely obsessed to hear how organized Jessica was! My heart was EXPLODING because there is nothing I love more than a well-organized bride!

Flash forward: IT’S WEDDING DAY!! I woke up that morning just knowing it was going to be magical. We woke up to a gorgeous fall day and we made our way to Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Evansville, Indiana. When I walked in the room, the girls were all giggling and serving Jessica in any way possible.— we seriously always get the best of the best when it comes to bridal parties!!! Bret headed out to get some detail shots which will always and forever be his favorite part of any wedding day…and he is SO GOOD at what he does! I love him so much for putting so much heart into those shots! It also helps when we have beautiful details to work with! Jessica and Nick put their heart and soul into the details of this wedding. I am forever loving the simple, yet spectacular floral arrangements! There is just something that is so perfect about white flowers and simple greenery!!

After Jessica got into her dress (which was BREATHTAKING OMG) I helped get her ready for their first look. She was so excited and waited patiently to see her groom. We decided on the church’s prayer garden for the first look just because it was an all-around peaceful sanctuary that was calming and surrounded by greenery. It was absolutely beautiful!! When we walked into the garden, Bret had placed Nick with his back to Jessica. She excitedly walked up behind him and hugged him and couldn’t stop. She just embraced him and didn’t let go. She stood there for a few seconds and a huge smile emerged on Nick’s face. It was such a beautiful moment that I could tear up right now thinking about it!! When he finally turned around, they both broke out into giggles. They were so happy to see each other and to have that moment away from everyone else. It was literally the sweetest thing to watch two best friends celebrate in such a special moment.

We next knocked out all the portraits — bride and groom portraits, as well as bridal party shots. This group nailed the Disney giggle flawlessly. They did so well that we even had time for Boomerangs and fun shots like that. I absolutely love trying to squeeze some of those things in. A lot of times during the day, bridal parties don’t have much time to spend on their social medias, so if we are going to love and serve them, we are even there to fluff their social media accounts for them LOL. We’d be silly not to give them some shots of the day to post — I mean look at those BEAUTIFUL green bridesmaid dresses…they need to be seen by everyone!!!!

The church started to fill up so the bride and groom separated! They both told each other that they would see the other at the altar and I about died — how stinking cute and fun?! It was such a beautiful ceremony. There is just something that is so magical about Catholic masses because they are so beautiful and timeless. After the ceremony, it was party time!! We zipped through Jessica’s family photo list and then headed over to the reception across the way. Jessica and Nick danced the night away with family and friends. Now, we’ve been to a lot of receptions, but I’ve never seen one that was bubbling over with so much joy and happiness as that evening!!  Jessica and Nick are obviously loved so much by anyone that knows them. It was such a magical day and we wish you both the very best in all your future endeavors. Enjoy your sneak peek, you two!!
