Kelsey and Nolan’s Engagement Session

These two are the CUTEST thing EVER!! 😍 We explored University of Evansville’s campus for Kelsey and Nolan’s engagement session on the coldest day but we still had the BEST time!! ❄️ This cutie couple was full of the sweetest giggles throughout the entire session!! Ahh! We just love Kelsey and Nolan SO much!!! Let the wedding countdown begin, you two!! 🎉

How did you meet?!

“In the fall of 2014 Kelsey was playing Morticia in the Addams Family at Jasper High School. Nolan came to see the show for class and thought she was cute. Skip ahead to February 2015 and Kelsey was talking to one of her friends about finding a prom date. She said that she saw this cute guy with Blonde curly hair who always wore Khakis. She asked her friend to ask his friend if he would like to go to her senior prom with her. He then texted me and asked me on a date the very next day.”

What was your first date?!

“We had planned on doing to a movie and then out to eat. It was a very snowy day and the movie theater was shut down like most of the town. We were still able to get lunch where we had planned but we wanted to hang out more. I (Kelsey) texted my mom if we could come over and hang out at the house. We got there and my mom and brother were there. Nolan and I watched a movie. Then we decided to play out in the snow. My little brother came with us. Nolan was very good with him. After that, we had dinner and watched another movie. After being together for 12 hours Nolan was about to head out. Before he left we had planned to hang out the next day since were we out of school for snow. We were out of school that whole week and we hung out every day. Before the week was up on February 22, 2015, he asked me to be his girlfriend.”

Do you have a favorite date you’ve ever been on together?

“Our favorite date was when it was just the two of us and we got in the car and headed down to the drive-in. We left really early and we just drove around and explored the different cities nearby. We spend the day talking about us and what our future could look like together.”

What would the perfect date night look like or include?

“A perfect date night would include trying a new restaurant and going to see a new movie. Ending the evening on a walk and talking about everything!!”

How did he propose?!

“We got engaged on July 16, 2019! Nolan asked me to go to dinner with him after I moved back home from school. Conveniently I had lost my make up during the move. My mom told me to go get my makeup done and figure out what I needed to replace the stuff that I lost. I started to get a feeling that it might be the night. When Nolan picked me up I asked if he had anything sparkly in his pocket. He told that he did not and then he would only talk about work. I was pretty annoyed. When we got to the restaurant I saw our friend from school’s truck. I asked why he was there and Nolan kept insisting that it was not him. I got out with my eye glued on the truck and I turn to see Nolan with the ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him. I was so excited that I couldn’t help but hug him. He was so scared that he was scared he was going to drop in the storm drain. Lucky he did not. Our friends hopped out from behind the truck. It was a wonderful night and I am glad our friends were there to celebrate with us.”

What are your favorite movies?

“We enjoy the Fast and Furious movies as well as any Marvel movie. One of our favorites is Remember the Titans.”

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

“We like to get in the car and see where we end up. It is more fun when we get to bring Hoosier. We enjoy going up to the lake and letting him play in the water.”

For the bride: What are three things you love about your groom?

“The three things I love about Nolan are his ability to love and care for everyone no matter what. I love that he is very passionate about what he does. Lastly, I love his baby blue eyes.”

For the groom: What are three things you love about your bride?

“The three things I love about Kelsey are how thoughtful she is, her smile, and her willingness to help everyone.”

If you could go anywhere on a vacation, where would you go?

“We would like to go Nappa Valley out in Califoriana. It is a place Nolan has always wanted to go and he would not want to go with anyone else.”

Do you have any pets together?!

“We adopted a puppy from the humane society. He is a Golden Retriver and Beagle mix. His name is Hoosier. He likes to go everywhere with us. When he ended up at the shelter he was with his brother. My (Kelsey) parents adopted the other one. There are many puppy play dates.”

What is one interesting or random fact about each of you?

“Nolan races mini sprints in the summer and Kelsey is a dance teacher at the studio she used to take lessons at.”

What’s something you are both passionate about?

“We are passionate about helping each other grow.”

What was your favorite part of the engagement session?

“We loved being hanging out with Bret and Brandie they were awesome and super helpful. We cant wait for them to be at the wedding with us!”

Bride, did you get your hair & makeup professionally done for your session?!

“My makeup was done by Jack Greener.”

Where did her outfits come from?

“My sweater and jeans are from Express. My dress is from Hello Molly. The shoes are from Macy’s”

Where did his outfits come from?

“His jeans and sweater are from Macy’s. The suit is from Men’s Warehouse.”

Advice for other couples who are prepping for their engagement session?

“Have fun and enjoy being close with the person you love. It might feel awkward at first but it can be really fun together!”
